Where Does It Show Dumbledore Being Gay in the Books Reddit

People can't get enough of Ravage Potter, and JK Rowling is giving it to them in the form of senseless and often problematic alterations to the HP universe. Much like how George Lucas launched his controversial plant of prequels for the Star Wars universe of discourse, JK Rowling began tweaking, changing, and adding unnecessary pieces of information to change her mostly white and Commonwealth of Independent States gender vomit of characters. Nigh of these alterations aim at making the whole universe way more inclusive than what a white writer from the UK would have produced back in the 1980's and 90's (which is exactly when this whole business was cooking).

Provok Potter is a turning point series of children's and young adult literature. Its success is in part due to the attractive stories of each case-by-case episode of the seven book saga, every bit well as the entire transmedia phenomenon that exploded in the archaeozoic 2000s: movies, action figures, videogames, theme parks... And more or less of that was even before the in conclusion trey books were published. Once the whole thing ended, information technology felt like everything was tightly and neatly cloaked raised, a universe so perfectly brought to life that it didn't need much more. It was if Rowling had thought of everything.

She didn't initially think of where Wizards pooped, though. In January 2019, a Pottermore tweet explained Hogwarts didn't adopt plumbery until it was invented.

Why wouldn't they antimonopoly poop like muggles had been doing for ages? You sleep with… In an enclosed space, in a hole, and then made IT vanish? No, they had to go extra crazy with this. Let's not discuss how gross this is for now, and instead focus connected how this changes the entire logic of the Sleeping room of Secrets's entrance through and through the girls' bathroom. But Pottermore had some lame explanation for this.

And even before that, Rowling has claimed Hogwarts was various AF with Jewish students on its roster, even though there's absolutely no mention of beliefs in the books. You would think that with all the Nazi analogies of Wizards vs Muggles, a reference to Jewish student organic structure shouldn't make up harmful at all, or at least, better explained?

More recently, Rowling's declarations made headlines last year when the new Fantastic Beasts trailer revealed Naguini had been a human all along, a Korean lady, to be exact.

If you equal Harry Potter, so you'll like this: 10 Movie Universes You Wouldn't Mind Living In At Least Once

She explained Naguini wasn't an animagus but a maledictus, the difference prevarication on choice: an animagus is a human World Health Organization chooses to become an goat-like while a maledictus is a cursed individual who is bound to eventually becoming an animal always against his or her own will. This was her way of including a Korean eccentric in the integral saga. Woke, right? Except Neville totally and epically excision the head unsatisfactory of that snake in the grass at the end of the series. Is Neville a liquidator now? Did he summarily execute Naguini? And why was Naguini Korean, anyway? The name is sure enough from India. Minorities aren't interchangeable, Rowling.

When The Cursed Child, Rowling's sequel flirt, was form, in that respect were many questions when producers cast Noma Dumezweni as Hermione, which was odd only not terrible in the least. Yet Rowling defended this choice aside claiming she never in full explained Hermione's skin color. And that just felt up lame. If Hermione was a black fiber, wouldn't it accept been more of a program line to fully announce so? @mizzdumewenzi

But perhaps the first big WTF minute of retcon (ex post facto continuity) was in 2007, when Rowling confirmed Albus Dumbledore was gay. Unsurprisingly, controversy ensued. All of the conservative opinions aside, while many members of the LGBT biotic community took information technology as validation, others were skeptical, and with good rationality. Considering Harry Potter's perspicuous anti-bigotry message, it now feels kinda odd that in that location's absolutely no textual evidence of Dumbledore's queerness in the saga. Non only is his sexual orientation course thus irrelevant, just now it's likewise problematic: why would helium choose to remain closeted in multiplication of fierce discrimination? Why wouldn't he speak for the LGBT community when, at the homophonic time, He was so staunchly opposed anti-muggles?

Rather than lay low on the topic, Rowling seemed to feel like the champ of unvoiced communities and doubled down on the whole Dumbledore gayness. In the DVD commentary of the latest HP movie she commented: "Their relationship was incredibly intense. It was passionate, and it was a love relationship. But as happens in whatever kinship, gay or transparent or some label we lack to put on that, one never knows, real, what the different person is tone. You can't know, you can think you recognize. So I'm less involved in the sexed root - though I believe there is a sexual dimension to this relationship - than I am in the sense of the emotions they felt for to each one other, which ultimately is the most fascinating thing about all human relationships." So now we have this super elaborate gay backstory that nobody equal asked for.

And arsenic Out cartridge holder said:

Well you recognize what, Disseminated multiple sclerosis. Rowling? I'm a great deal more interested in the intersexual sidelong and have several questions. Who topped? Who bottomed? Did they use of goods and services wands equally sex toys? ... Do you have any details about whether wizards are as if by magic able to make bottoming more pleasurable? Can wizards create lube away of nowhere?  Rowling, your silence is thundery.

Understandably, social media has taken it to themselves to make as much sport of every these changes as conceivable. A Reddit thread asked users to imagine a situation: "You realise check of JK Rowling's twitter story for a daylight. What unnecessary piece of entropy do you add together to Chevy Potter lore?", while many Chitter users have parodied Rowling's sudden bursts of information.

It's Oklahoma, Rowling, you weren't so aware enough of some of these communities back in the 90s, hardly anyone who wasn't part of them was, but lessons were learned, so indite another saga that is overloaded of LGBT, POC, and socialist millennial characters, but for the love of god, leave Harry Potter be!

Indite for us!
